Breast Cancer Freebies: Temper-Pedic Giveaway

Breast cancer freebies can be hard to come by. That’s why I love finding out when something is free. After going through surgeries and treatments, money is tight. And whenever I get word that something is free for breast cancer patients and survivors, I love to share with my readers.

The United Breast Cancer Foundation (UBCF) is a charity in New York. The UBCF is joining a charity in Alexandria, VA called Good360 to donate mattresses for breast cancer patients and survivors. And not just any mattress, but brand new Temper-Pedic mattresses! As long as you’re a breast cancer patient or in remission, you can apply.

Your children under 18 years old may be able to get a Temper-Pedic mattress, too. The mattress giveaways are taking place in New York, Maryland, Virginia, Florida, and California. New York’s event took place on Long Island on July 21st and they gave away 264 new mattresses. As of now, dates have not been posted but you can email for information about a specific location.

I am a patient at the John Hopkins Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center in Baltimore. I received some information that I just couldn’t wait to share with you. The Temper-Pedic donation event is coming to Baltimore, Maryland!

In order to apply, you must submit an application to the UBCF Gift In Kind Program. Besides being a breast cancer patient or survivor, the only requirement is to attach a letter from your doctor verifying your cancer status, such as current treatment or how long you’ve been in remission.

You don’t have to live in Maryland to apply but you have to be able to pick up the mattress on the date you are told; they do not deliver or hold mattresses.

Here is the UBCF Mattress Application that you can download, fill out, and fax or email to UBCF. Good luck to you and don’t forget to sign up for updates from Black and Topless on updates and otherfreebies available in your area.
